Penn Fishing - not to be tangled with

Penn Fishing have been making fishing equipment since the early 1930's. Their fishing gear is reknowned the world over for quality, durability and strength. Many a big fish has been landed on a Penn Reel by the Game Fisherman. Penn Fishing are now part of the Pure Fishing Group of Companies (along with Shakespeare Fishing Tackle) which in turn is part of the Jarden Group, employing over 25,000 people worldwide and listed in the Fortune 500.

Penn Fishing tackle is a quality brand covering a broad range of the market-place, from spinning reels costing int the $50 - $100 range up to the International reels for Big Game Fishing which can run you $500 or more - and no-one only ever wants 1! What really makes Penn Fishing stand out is their spare parts division though. These are not "break and bin" reels. They are made from top quality materials and to back that up, Penn will supply any part for these reels. As an example, the "exploded diagram" for one of their spinning reels shows 63 individual components - each with it's own part number and each one of which can be ordered seperately!

With their equipment being used by Professional and Amateur anglers alike, all over the world, Penn host the Penn International Grand Slam events with prize money running into the hundreds of thousands of dollars. They even have their own "Penn Fishing University" which includes such noteworthy places as Santa Cruz, San Diego and Baja's East Cape on it's calender of events. The fees do run to slightly more per day than your average home-town university, but the scenery ... and you get to use all that lovely Penn Fishing equipment free of charge - what more could you want? (Hmm - fish on the hook?)

At the end of the day, whether you are settling down by a local brook or canal for an afternnon nap, or muscling into a 100+ pound marlin in the Caribbean, you could do a lot worse than having a Penn Reel at your fingertips. If it was attached to one of their rods aswell then I guess you could rest easy in the knowedge that you have one of the best names in fishing backing you up all the way to the keep net. Tight Lines.
